Jimmy Hendrix Woodstock ☮

La aparición del genial guitarrista Jimi Hendrix en aquella húmeda mañana del 18 de agosto a las ocho y media coronó de hecho el lado artístico del festival. Y además hizo historia en la música. Durante dos horas, escuchado al final por apenas algo más de 30.000 oyentes, aquel mestizo indio de piel oscura cantó y tocó como si en ello le fuera la vida. Con un quinteto formado no hacía mucho improvisó a partir de su repertorio hasta que, poco antes del final, recurrió al himno nacional americano “Star Spangled Banner”. Hendrix ofreció una novísima versión del himno sagrado de manera hasta entonces nunca interpretada y absolutamente inaudita, manipulando la amplificación con rasgueos y chillidos que significaban guerra, la guerra del Vietnam. Jimi Hendrix arrancó de su guitarra bombardeos silbantes, estallidos de la tierra y atormentados gritos de dolor

Rocka Rolla

El álbum debut de la banda lanzado en 1974. Fue producido por Rodger Bain, que tambien fue el productor de los primeros tres álbumes de Black Sabbath's.
El álbum fue grabado en directo. Osea todos los músicos grabando simultáneamente en un estudio como si fuese en un concierto.
Hubo gran cantidad de problemas técnicos en el estudio, lo que resultó en un sonido pobre para el disco provocando un gran descontento en la banda. El productor era muy cuidadoso pero eliminó para este disco, su material más clásico, el cual se incluirían en su siguiente trabajo.

*El baterista John Hinch dejó la banda en 1975, antes de grabar el siguiente material, Glenn Tipton dijo posteriormente que se trataba de un "músico inadecuado"

Sad Wings of Destiny

Es el segundo álbum de la banda lanzado comercialmente en 1976. Fue el álbum que estableció el sonido con más fuerza dentro del estilo del heavy metal el cual junto con el Hard Rock se estaban convirtiendo en todo un fenómeno en auge a niveles comerciales.
Sad Wings Of Destiny, contenía la mayoría del material que Judas Priest había popularizado en directo, entre sus clásicos contaban con su canción más conocida, "Victim Of Changes" que data de 1972, y que originalmente recibía el título de "Whiskey Woman"
El álbum cuenta con quizá los cuatro temas más reconocidos de la banda "The Ripper", "Tyrant", "Genocide" y "Victim Of Changes".

Este álbum cuenta con el primer trabajo del baterista, Simon Phillips, que solo tenía 19 años cuando lo grabaron. El álbum cuenta con una versión de la canción "Diamonds and Rust" original de Joan Baez .

Stained Class

Considerado por muchos uno de los mejores trabajos de Judas, este disco se caracteriza por sus letras y sus riffs duros, sello desde entonces de la banda.
El desafortunado legado de Stained Class llega cuando en 1990, dos jóvenes se suicidaron mientras oían la versión de Spooky Tooth "Better By You, Better Than Me." a la cual, la familia de los dos jóvenes tomó represalias legales acusando a Judas Priest de incluir mensajes subliminales, en este caso "Do It" en castellano, "Hazlo", en un juicio que al final quedó en la inocencia de la banda. El álbum fue remasterizado en 2001, con dos pistas adicionales.
La portada supuso una innovación técnica, creada por Rozslav Szyabo, también creador de su logo tipo futurista.

Hell Bent for Leather (Retitulado: Killing Machine en Reino Unido) es el álbum de Judas Priest que cambió la estética visual de Judas Priest, dando paso a la habitual indumentaria de cuero y tachuelas. Lanzado en marzo de 1979, pero con Copyright de 1978. Cuando "Killing Machine" fue lanzado al mercado de Estados Unidos, el sello Columbia/CBS no aprobó "la violencia del título" y por motivos comerciales este fue retitulado como Hell Bent for Leather.

[b]Turbo lanzado en 1986 Fue grabado en los Compass Point Studios en Nassau, Bahamas y mezclado de Enero a Febrero de 1986 en Record Plant en Los Angeles, California.

Tras el impacto de "Defenders Of The Faith" y "Screaming For Vengeance" llegó el momento de innovar, y Judas intentó hacer su intento de vender a niveles masivos, para eso utilizó la fórmula que en aquella época estaba de moda en el pop, sintetizar el sonido, al estilo del Glam.
El periodo de grabación del álbum estuvo caracterizado por el intento de suicidio de Rob Halford, que frustrado por tener que ocultar su condición sexual intentó quitarse la vida ingiriendo una alta dosis de analgésicos
A su salida, el disco no fue muy bien acogido por los fans que los tildaron de traidores, pero poco a poco "Turbo" se ha convertido en todo un álbum histórico
La portada fue creada por Doug Johnson.[/b]
